Welcome to Surfside Golf Course!
Exciting things happening at Surfside Golf Course!
by Jon Kukula on 03/06/12
The
winter season is upon us and as always the golf course business grinds to a
halt. This is time to relax and enjoy a little down time before the dog days of
summer.? As always this time of
year, a Bandon Dunes golf trip was in my plans. Thanks to all that went . If
you have never been to Bandon, I recommend putting it on your bucket list. It
is quite an unbelievable trip that we take. Weather,(as always in the first
week of Dec.) was sunny and 55 each day. 4 days of great golf, food and
friends.
2012
marks the start of my 11th year at Surfside G.C., as your PGA Professional and
Golf Superintendent. Wow how time does fly. I often say how lucky my boys
(ryan, ross, blake) and I were to find our way here. We , along the way, have met
some of the nicest people you could ever meet. I could not put into words the
positive effects that the golf course and its members have given to my kids
.After 21 years in the golf business, 16 as a PGA member, I could still not
think of a better job than mine. We are blessed! Thank you all.
I
have been given the chance to write an article each month on our new website.
With that said, I have no idea what topics I may cover. So, bear with me if
sometimes I go on a tangent . If you have any questions or ideas on topics that
you might like to see covered, please email me.
Thanks
to Sam Burton of Sam Burton Designs for an excellent new web site. You are the
man!
For
all mens and ladies club members, all news will start getting posted on this
website also. Tom Kennedy (mens club pres.) and I are currently working on
getting started on that so stay tuned. For all others interested in joining the
mens or ladies clubs, and need more info, you can call our pro shop .
The
rains and the wind will no doubt continue for awhile, but in between the
breaks, come on out and enjoy the golf course. As always, we are committed to
have the golf course in the best shape it can be , and to continue to improve
the features around the course.
